Moldova has also introduced import-duty incentives for energy storage equipment and continues to support the development of energy storage and renewable energy projects, contributing to growing market demand.
1. Project Overview
Project Location: Chișinău and surrounding commercial and industrial parks, Moldova
Energy Storage System: 125kW/261kWh integrated liquid-cooled energy storage cabinet
Product Type: All-in-one, factory-preassembled liquid-cooled energy storage system
Applications: Factories, commercial and industrial parks, and photovoltaic energy storage projects
Project Objective: To help Moldova reduce its dependence on imported electricity, improve grid stability, lower commercial and industrial energy costs, generate additional economic value, and support the country’s transition toward greater energy independence.
Moldova has long relied heavily on imported electricity. Its power grid is subject to frequent fluctuations, while the country experiences significant temperature differences between day and night and noticeable peak-to-off-peak electricity price differences for commercial and industrial users.
At the same time, Moldova’s installed solar capacity is growing rapidly. However, the lack of supporting energy storage systems limits the local consumption of renewable electricity and can result in solar energy curtailment.
2. Customer Challenges
- Weak grid stability, significant voltage fluctuations, and unexpected power outages that threaten production and business operations.
- High peak electricity prices that place considerable cost pressure on commercial and industrial users.
- Surplus electricity from distributed rooftop solar systems cannot be stored locally, resulting in solar energy curtailment and wasted generation.
- Eastern Europe experiences cold winters, hot summers, and large temperature differences between day and night. Conventional air-cooled energy storage systems may experience uneven heat dissipation and accelerated battery degradation.
- Limited space for civil construction at the project site creates a need for factory-preassembled equipment, rapid installation, and lower construction costs.
3. Energy Storage Solution
The project deploys multiple 125kW/261kWh all-in-one liquid-cooled energy storage cabinets. A modular parallel architecture allows the system capacity to be expanded according to the factory’s load requirements, creating an integrated solar PV + energy storage + utility grid power supply system.
✅ Intelligent liquid-cooling system: Maintains the temperature difference between battery cells within ±2°C, making the system suitable for Moldova’s challenging climate conditions.
✅ Highly integrated factory assembly: The BMS, PCS, EMS, thermal management system, and fire protection system are pre-installed before delivery. Only cable connections and commissioning are required on-site.
✅ Multiple operating modes: Supports peak-to-off-peak energy arbitrage, increased solar self-consumption, grid frequency regulation, and emergency backup power.
✅ IP65 outdoor protection: Suitable for outdoor installation and capable of operating under rain, snow, frost, and intense sunlight.
✅ Remote cloud-based monitoring: Enables Moldova-based operation and maintenance teams to perform remote system monitoring, diagnostics, and energy dispatch.

5. Project Summary
This batch of 261kWh liquid-cooled energy storage cabinets was fully assembled and delivered to Moldova. The solution was specifically designed to meet the demanding outdoor operating conditions of Eastern Europe and the energy requirements of local commercial and industrial users.
The integrated modular design combines rapid deployment with flexible system expansion. Intelligent liquid-cooling technology helps maintain stable battery temperatures and ensures reliable, around-the-clock power regulation and energy supply.
By introducing reliable energy storage technology, the project supports the development of renewable energy in Moldova, contributes to the modernization of the local electricity grid, and promotes the continued transition toward green energy and greater energy independence across Eastern Europe.
