DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer)

DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer)

A dense wavelength division multiplexer combines optical signals of different wavelengths onto one fiber (multiplexing) or separates multiplexed channels by wavelength (demultiplexing). 100 GHz or 200 GHz channel-spacing DWDM mux/demux devices use mature multi-cavity dielectric thin-film filtering for wavelength stability and sealed packaging for high environmental stability. Applications include optical amplifiers, OADM/OTC functions in DWDM systems, and DWDM technology in power systems.
