Each container includes battery racks, PCS (typically 1–1.5MW), BMS, EMS, HVAC or chillers, liquid cooling circulation system, fire suppression, and communication interfaces.
At multi-MWh scale, thermal consistency and heat dissipation are vital. Liquid cooling ensures uniform temperature control, minimizes hotspot risks, supports higher energy densities, and allows continuous operation under full load, especially in regions with high ambient temperatures or frequent cycling.
This system is ideal for utility-scale renewable integration (solar/wind farms), grid frequency regulation, peak shaving, large industrial park backup, energy arbitrage, and EV fleet charging hubs. It is also used in microgrids and as capacity reserve for weak grid regions.
The system complies with IEC 62619, UL 9540A, CE, UN38.3, and GB standards. Safety mechanisms include rack-level BMS with fault isolation, liquid leak detection, thermal runaway protection, multi-point temperature sensors, smoke/gas detection, and automatic fire suppression (e.g., aerosol/NOVEC).
A centralized EMS provides real-time monitoring of SoC, SoH, temperature profiles, coolant flow, alarms, and PCS operation. Predictive maintenance tools analyze data to preempt failures. Routine maintenance includes coolant inspection, filter cleaning, firmware upgrades, and emergency drills for grid safety compliance.
