Project Overview:

Highjoule provided a highly efficient solar-energy-storage system solution, successfully deployed in an off-grid solar-energy-storage project in Sudan. This project, which includes high-capacity energy storage equipment and advanced solar inverters, aims to provide the client with a highly reliable, low-energy-consumption power system, addressing local grid instability and utility power unavailability.

Project Background:

Located in Sudan, this project utilizes an integrated “solar + energy storage” solution to provide the client with stable, clean power. Due to unstable local utility power and temporary grid unavailability, the client selected our off-grid solar-energy-storage solution. The system includes 215KWh energy storage cabinets (2+1 paralleled) and 1 50KWh energy storage cabinet. The client provided its own solar panels, ensuring continuous and stable power supply even without utility power. Furthermore, considering the possibility of future grid connection, this project also includes grid-connection capabilities to accommodate future changes in demand.

System Configuration:

This project offers two system configuration options to meet different application requirements:

  • Configuration 1: Two 100KW/215KWh energy storage cabinets + five 125KW solar inverters (two 215KWh storage expansion slots reserved).
  • Configuration 2: One 100KW/215KWh energy storage cabinet + three 125KW solar inverters (one 215KWh storage expansion slot reserved).
  • 50KWh Project: One 50KW/50KWh energy storage cabinet + one 50KW solar inverter + a high-voltage box.

Project Application Scenarios

Project Application Scenarios:

1. Off-grid Mode:

When there is no utility power or a utility power outage, the PV system can power the load and charge the energy storage battery. When the PV power supply is insufficient or cloudy, the energy storage battery will prioritize powering the load until the battery capacity drops below 10%. At this point, the system will automatically enter standby mode until the PV system returns to normal. The system uses intelligent EMS control to ensure stable and reliable power supply.

2. Grid-connected and off-grid dual modes (reserved functionality):

The system supports future grid-connected functionality. When utility power is available, the PV system and energy storage system will be connected to the grid, prioritizing self-use. Any remaining power can be used for electricity sales (requires backflow protection). If utility power is unavailable, the system automatically switches to off-grid mode to continue supplying power, ensuring a stable power supply under all circumstances.
