Sudan 40-foot Foldable Photovoltaic Energy Storage System

Project Overview
This project is situated in a region of Sudan experiencing unstable or unreliable grid electricity supply. To address the challenge of securing stable power for critical local infrastructure—such as factories, mining sites, or telecommunications base stations—a highly integrated 40-foot foldable photovoltaic energy storage container system has been deployed. Operating under a “self-generation for self-consumption, surplus power not fed into the grid” model, the system employs an integrated photovoltaic-storage unit to enable intelligent grid-connected/off-grid switching. During grid outages, it automatically transitions to off-grid operation, utilising solar energy and storage batteries to sustain power supply to loads, thereby ensuring continuity and reliability of production and operational activities.

  1. Project Details

Application

Sudan possesses exceptional solar resources, with the project site characterised by extensive annual sunshine hours and high solar radiation intensity, making it an area exceptionally rich in solar energy and highly suitable for photovoltaic power generation systems. This project aims to establish an intelligent, autonomous “PV + energy storage” microgrid system to meet the round-the-clock power requirements of specific sites, effectively addressing challenges posed by frequent power outages or grid failures.

Intelligent Energy Management System (EMS): Enables comprehensive monitoring and intelligent dispatch of power generation, storage, and consumption. Maximises self-consumption rates and optimises system economic operation.

Project advantages

Highly Integrated, Rapid Deployment
Highly Integrated, Rapid Deployment
All core equipment is pre-installed within standard shipping containers, enabling "delivery-ready" deployment. This significantly reduces on-site installation and commissioning time (typically 1-2 days only) while requiring minimal site preparation, making it particularly suitable for emergency or rapid power generation needs.
Reliable Power Supply
Reliable Power Supply
Features seamless grid-connected/off-grid switching. Upon mains failure, the system transitions to off-grid mode within milliseconds, with photovoltaics and batteries jointly ensuring uninterrupted load operation, eliminating power outage concerns.
Intelligent Efficiency with Economic Benefits
Intelligent Efficiency with Economic Benefits
Prioritises consumption of green electricity through the "self-generation for self-consumption" model, significantly reducing electricity expenditure. The intelligent EMS effectively manages energy flow, enhancing overall system efficiency and shortening the investment payback period.
Flexible Scalability and Adaptability
Flexible Scalability and Adaptability
The modular design allows future capacity expansion by adding photovoltaic containers or energy storage cabinets as electricity demand grows. The integrated enclosure design offers robust protection against wind and sand, along with high-temperature resistance, making it suitable for arid and semi-arid climates such as those found in Sudan.
Maintenance-Free and Low Operational Costs
Maintenance-Free and Low Operational Costs
The system's high integration and use of industrial-grade components ensure reliability with minimal routine maintenance. Foldable photovoltaic panels facilitate centralised cleaning, offering safe and convenient operation while substantially reducing long-term operational expenses.

Core products

Satellite Communication Energy Cabinet
Satellite Communication Energy Cabinet

The Satellite Communication Energy Cabinet is a PV energy storage cabinet from Highjoule Technology Group designed specifically for off-grid satellite communication sites. The system consists of PV modules, an MPPT solar controller, an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack, a thermal management system, and a power distribution unit, forming a complete off-grid PV generation and energy storage system that provides stable power to satellite communication base stations. The system adopts a modular design and can be efficiently operated and maintained via local and remote monitoring. It supplies 48V DC and AC 120V–200V power to satellite and other industry communication equipment, supporting floor-standing and pole-mount installation.

Outdoor Battery Cabinet
Outdoor Battery Cabinet

The Outdoor Battery product line is centered on green low-carbon, high-efficiency, and intelligent coordination principles. It covers both indoor and outdoor configurations, with lithium batteries (or lead-acid batteries) forming battery energy storage cabinets. Each cabinet also houses environmental sensors, battery circuit breakers, battery cables, and thermal management accessories to form an integrated battery cabinet.

Hybrid Power System
Hybrid Power System

The Site Hybrid Power System is a next-generation multi-energy integrated power supply for 4G/5G base stations, communication equipment rooms, edge data centers, and outdoor compact sites. It breaks the traditional “single grid input, single DC output” architecture to achieve multi-source energy input + multi-voltage output + intelligent coordinated dispatch. At the site level, it accommodates grid power, PV, energy storage, diesel generators, and other sources, delivering a highly reliable, efficient, and simply deployable power framework for 5G equipment, transmission equipment, and IoT loads. Power range: 6 kW–36 kW; available in both 3U and 1U circuit breaker configurations.

Stacked-PV MPPT Solar Controller
Stacked-PV MPPT Solar Controller

The Stacked-PV MPPT Solar Controller is specially developed for PV capacity expansion at base station sites. Using a series-connection scheme, the system consists of PV modules, a stacked-PV MPPT controller, and a DC meter. Each PV string is series-connected to the controller, which steps down the module output voltage to −48V and injects it onto the rectifier output busbar to supply DC loads. Designed for communication base stations, it supports wall-mount and pole-mount installation. The product is available in outdoor and rack-mount versions.
