Project Introduction

The folding solar container is an efficient, flexible, and easy-to-deploy solar power generation solution. Egypt, as a leader in Africa’s energy transition, is endowed with abundant solar resources. Areas such as the Aswan Desert in southern Egypt experience over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, providing excellent conditions for photovoltaic power generation.

Project Details

Project Scale: The project consists of 10 folding solar containers, each with an installed capacity of 200 kW, totaling an installed capacity of 2 MW.

Location: The project is located in a desert area of Egypt, which has flat terrain, ample sunlight, and proximity to transmission lines, making it convenient to integrate the generated power into the local grid.

Applications

Grid-Connected Power Generation: The project is primarily used for grid-connected power generation, providing clean electricity to support the local grid, effectively alleviating electricity shortages in some areas of Egypt, and enhancing grid stability and supply reliability.

Emergency Power Supply: In addition to grid-connected generation, the folding solar containers can also be used as independent power sources in emergency situations, providing temporary power supply to critical locations such as hospitals and communication stations.

Main Equipment

Folding Solar Modules: High-efficiency bifacial TOPCon solar panels that generate power from both the front and rear sides.

Energy Storage System: Equipped with high energy density, long cycle life lithium batteries as storage units to store excess electricity.

Intelligent Control System: An integrated energy management system that monitors and controls the operation of the solar panels in real time, enabling remote monitoring and intelligent management of the entire system.

Hydraulic Lifting System: The hydraulic system adjusts the support height, allowing the solar panels to be folded for transport.

The Stacked-PV MPPT Solar Controller is specially developed for PV capacity expansion at base station sites. Using a series-connection scheme, the system consists of PV modules, a stacked-PV MPPT controller, and a DC meter. Each PV string is series-connected to the controller, which steps down the module output voltage to −48V and injects it onto the rectifier output busbar to supply DC loads. Designed for communication base stations, it supports wall-mount and pole-mount installation. The product is available in outdoor and rack-mount versions.
